Last updated 2016: Polina Pasztircsák was born in Budapest, and began her international career after winning the Geneva International Music Competition in 2009. The Hungarian government has awarded her the Silver Cross of Merit, and since 2016 she is a Kammersängerin (chamber singer) of the Hungarian State Opera, where she performs regularly.
Ms. Pasztircsák’s repertoire includes roles from the Baroque, Late Romantic, and modern periods. She has performed the title roles in Handel’s Partenope and Cavalli’s Veremonda, as well as both Woglinde and Gutrune in Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen, with the Grand Théâtre de Genève, and at the Wagner Festival in Budapest. Most recently she performed in the title role of Strauss’ Daphne with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Pasztircsák is also an international concert soloist, and has performed with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
