Monika Fischl

Hungarian soprano Mónika Fischl studied singing at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music before joining the Budapest Operetta Theatre, where she has become one of Hungary’s leading operetta performers. Her signature roles include Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Hanna in The Merry Widow, and the title roles in Kálmán’s The Duchess of Chicago and Countess Maritza. Her portrayal of Sylva in Gypsy Princess has taken her to the Seefestspiele Mörbisch and the screen. Her operatic repertoire includes Violetta, Gilda, the Queen of the Night, Norina, and Musetta. A recipient of the Artisjus, Honthy, and Liszt Ferenc Prizes, Ms. Fischl received Hungary’s Kossuth Prize in 2026 and currently performs Violetta in La traviata across Hungary.
