Peter Guth

Last Updated 2018: Educated at the Vienna Academy of Music and the Moscow Conservatory, Peter Guth became internationally renowned as a violin soloist with the Vienna Piano Trio, winning first prize at the ARD International Music Competition. In 1978, he founded the Strauss Festival Orchestra, which earned critical acclaim for its authentic interpretations of Viennese music. Maestro Guth has collaborated with many of the world’s top orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo, San Francisco Symphony, Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich, English Chamber Orchestra, and Moscow Virtuosi. In 2013, he conducted A Salute to Vienna, recorded live at the Konzerthaus in Vienna and recorded for public television.
