Imre Kollár

Imre Kollár studied conducting at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. After serving as assistant conductor of the Hungarian State Opera, he became chief conductor of the Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok and rehearsal conductor of the then Hungarian State Concert Orchestra. He served as chief conductor and music director of the Debrecen Philharmonic Orchestra, artistic director and chief conductor of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra in Budapest, and is currently chief conductor of the Kodály Philharmonic in Debrecen. Maestro Kollár’s recordings include Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 and Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4. He has performed in Asia, Australia, the USA, Canada, and throughout Europe.
