Kiev-City Ballet
The Kiev-City Ballet was founded in 1982, and used to be the only ballet in the Ukraine and second in the former USSR. It is currently part of the larger organization, the Kiev State Musical Theatre for Children and Youth, which encompasses theatre, opera, musical, and symphonic performances, for spectators of a wide variety. Ballet members are chosen from throughout Russia and Ukraine through a rigorous process. People’s Artist of Ukraine Tetiana Borovyk currently serves as head ballet-master of the troupe, which performs regularly in their home city, as well as throughout Europe.
